Canon EOS 300D – halbes Bild schwarz: Reparatur

Falls Sie eine Canon EOS 300D haben, die von heute auf morgen oder nach ein paar “Error 99″ im Autofokus nur mehr Bilder macht, die im unteren Bereich halb bis drei-viertel schwarz sind, machen Sie sich keine Sorgen, das können Sie selbst reparieren. Dazu braucht es keine 4 Stunden und etwas Geduld. Die Bilder sehen bei diesem Fehler etwa so aus:

Die Ursache dahinter ist ein abgebrochener Stift (Pin). Dieser greift normal in eine Führung des Hilfsspiegels ein, welcher für den Autofokus benötigt wird.  Eine Reparatur würde etwa 200 EUR kosten – zahlt sich nicht aus. Also bleibt nur selbst Hand anlegen. Ich helfe Ihnen dabei diesen Stift durch einen neuen, selbst gebastelten zu ersetzen. Alles was Sie dazu benötigen ist:

• 4h Zeit
• eine große Büroklammer (5 cm lang)
• Superkleber, 2-Komponenten Kleber oder ähnliches
• kleiner Schlitz-Schraubenzieher
• kleiner, langer Schlitz-Schraubenzieher
• kleiner Kreuzschlitz-Schraubenzieher
• Pinzette
• feines Bastelmesser

Hi, did this today, took me 3hours to take down and make a pin, then i glued it and waited 2 hours, tested the mirror and assemlbed the whole thing again (about 1hour).

My tipps for this operation:

- Use upside down tape or double-side tape to sort your screws, mark them, like this:

- Fix the opened Flash with tape to prevent it from folding during the operation.

- Tools i used + little sharp knife (missing here):

When back to assembling, dont forget the rubber part. i tried to screw the screws without it and nearly damaged the cam:

Remove this plastic thing shown in the picture below to screw the screws much easier:

Remove the lower ribbon cable with the needle, insert it also with the needle.

Make a foto or remember wher all the cables go (up/down the circuit board) for the assembling.

If you dont remove the top cover completely you can come as far as this:

You can insert the new pin now, but you must be careful.

Otherwise, when you try to remove the top cover pay attention to the white cable here under the 2 blue ones (comes short):

Press down the right side and front side and raise the left side and back side to fold the front cover away from the viewfinder.

I found the original pin, its 3×1.15 mm. If you have those big office paper clips – use them, they are thicker and fit better:

Use a little sharp handicraft knife (mine is rusty) and cut the edge, then pry with a screwdriver:

I overdid it a little: my pin inserted, clued and safed with strong tape:

Test the little helping mirror, now it should fold too:
